In the process of following a Story, it's important to stop of at every step of the way, and ask questions about the direction. Every twist in the Story is a Crest from where to get perspective on all the connections and ramifications and the relationship with the Major Story. The Story is never the same after that step, as it is enriched by the insights gathered there, and may even change course to follow the Major Story.
As you go up the steps of the Staircase Checklist of stories, you see relationships with other checklists, other Stars of checklists and Stars Galaxies of checklists that inform the Staircase checklist of the main Story you are following. So to make sure you are on the right way, every twist is a link to explore with the main story in mind, as you are connecting steps of the Checklist Staircase.
This is a Crest View approach of the Research Journey as Creative Stories are connected and/or Stories are created about connected phenomena. This is a Storied Method, where Stories are studied in Context, and the impacts of larger stories always considered. Since stories never evolve in a vacuum, they are influenced by other stories, and there is a progression in the many relationships that is prioritized at different levels.
Clearly, the light one sheds on these varied connections will determine the Story that is told, thus the meaningful importance of the Crest View approach to Investigation. Because how much on sees in their explorations is defined by the extent of those Crest Views, and the awareness of their diverse influences. As mindfulness informs the Views from these Crests, the main Story being kept in mind, the Story is told rightfully in a rich way and in context with all relevant stories.
